Map Tools: Fake GPS & Trails Data Deletion Last Updated: September 2, 2026
This page explains how to delete the data the App creates and, if you have one, your account. You can use the methods on this page even if you have already uninstalled the App.

1. Where Is Your Data? There are two separate places; note which one you are deleting.
A) On your device (for every user) Everything you save is stored locally on your device (HydratedBloc, SharedPreferences, and the on-device SQLite database). This data is not sent to our servers:
• Recorded walks ("My Walks") — real GPS tracks containing latitude, longitude, altitude, and a timestamp • Unfinished recording drafts (temporary track records kept during a recording to guard against crashes) • Favorite locations • Routes and PRO route waypoints • Simulations and human behavior simulation settings • Smart Shield rules • Scheduled locations • Daily usage (quota) counters • Vehicle favorites, unit preference, and accent color • Language, theme, and interface preferences
B) On our servers (ONLY if you signed in) If you signed in with Google or with an email address and password, the following account information is stored in Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore:
• Account identifier (uid) • Email address and email verification status • Display name (if provided by Google when signing in with Google) • Sign-in method (Google / email / anonymous) • Account creation, last update, and last seen timestamps • Platform, app version, language, and country code (for support purposes only) • Subscription status information (purchase record; not the source of entitlement)
We do NOT store any location, walk track, route, favorite, or similar content data on our servers. That data lives only on your device (see A).
If you used the App without signing in (anonymously), no account record is created for you on our servers.
IMPORTANT — There is no backup: The App does not use device backup (android:allowBackup="false"). When you uninstall the App or clear its app data, all local data including your recorded walks is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Export any walks you want to keep as GPX beforehand.
2. Deleting Your Account and Your Data on Our Servers To request deletion of your account and the server-side data associated with it, email us:
akillisletme@gmail.com Subject: Account Deletion Request
Sending the request from the email address registered to your account helps us verify you faster. If you signed in with Google, use the email address of that Google account.
You can also reach this page from inside the App: Settings → Account → Delete Account. That option opens this page. If you have uninstalled the App, simply use the email address above; you do NOT need to reinstall the App to submit your request.
What is deleted: • Your account record in Firebase Authentication (identity, email, sign-in method) • Your user document in Cloud Firestore (all fields listed in 1/B above)
How long it takes: We process requests within 30 days of receiving them and confirm back to you once completed.
What is not deleted, and why: • Local data on your device (walks, routes, favorites) — we have no access to it; you delete it yourself using the methods in Sections 4 and 5 below. • Purchase and billing records held by Google Play and RevenueCat — these are retained by those providers under financial regulations; we have no ability to delete them. • Support emails you sent us — if you want those deleted as well, just say so in the same request.
⚠️ If you have a subscription: Deleting your account does NOT cancel your Google Play subscription. You must cancel it separately in Google Play → Subscriptions, otherwise billing continues.
3. Cancelling a Subscription Play Store → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Map Tools: Fake GPS & Trails → Cancel subscription.
4. Deleting Individual Items Inside the App Each saved item (walk recording, favorite location, route, simulation, Smart Shield rule, schedule) can be deleted individually inside the App. Select the item from its list and use the delete action. When an unfinished recording draft exists, the App asks on launch whether you want to recover it; declining deletes the draft.
5. Clearing All Local App Data To delete all local data at once you can use Android's system settings: Settings → Apps → Map Tools → Storage → Clear Data
This removes all local data including recorded walks, recording drafts, favorites, routes, Smart Shield rules, schedules, quota counters, and all preferences. It does NOT delete your account on our servers — use Section 2 for that.
6. Uninstalling the App Uninstalling the App from your device also removes its local data. Since no backup is taken, this cannot be undone. Uninstalling also does not delete your account on our servers — use Section 2 for that.
7. Third-Party Services Firebase Crashlytics crash reports (only if enabled) are subject to Google's own retention policy and contain technical data such as app version, device model, and stack trace; they do not contain personal identifiers. If you want this data removed, please contact us.
For the full list of third-party services the App uses, see the Third-Party Services page.
8. Deleting Support Correspondence If you have contacted us by email and want the correspondence deleted, you can request it from the same address: akillisletme@gmail.com
— Change Note (September 2, 2026): This page was rewritten because sign-in with Google and with email was added to the App. The previous statement "The App does not require account creation or cloud sync" was removed, and it is now explained that data may live in two separate places (Sections 1/A and 1/B). How to request account deletion, which data is deleted, the 30-day timeline, and the reasons some records are retained were added (Section 2). A warning that deleting an account does not cancel a Play subscription, along with cancellation steps, was added (Sections 2 and 3). The commitment made in the previous Section 7 — that this page would be updated if accounts were added — is fulfilled by this update. The page URL is unchanged.
