Map Tools: Fake GPS & Trails User Consent Declaration
PLEASE READ THIS CONSENT DECLARATION CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE APP.
By accepting this declaration and using this App, I ("the User"), of my own free will, voluntarily and with full knowledge of its contents, declare the following:
1. TECHNICAL INFORMATION I acknowledge and confirm: • This App modifies the GPS location reported by my device using Android's official Mock Location API • Enabling Developer Options and selecting this app as the mock location provider is required for the App to function • While mock location is active, ALL location-dependent apps on my device will receive simulated coordinates • Some apps employ mock location detection mechanisms and may take automatic actions including but not limited to warnings, restrictions, or account termination • The developer has no control over how other apps respond to detected mock locations
2. RISK DISCLOSURE AND ACCEPTANCE I fully understand and voluntarily assume the following risks: • Using mock locations in certain apps may violate those apps' terms of service and may result in account bans, suspensions, data loss, or permanent account termination • If I use mock locations for illegal purposes, I may face legal consequences under the laws of my jurisdiction • Mock locations may affect emergency services, navigation, and safety-critical applications • Changes in Android operating system updates may affect mock location functionality without prior notice • The responsibility for understanding and complying with the terms of service of ALL apps and services I use on my device rests solely and exclusively with me • I have independently evaluated these risks and choose to proceed with full awareness
3. RESPONSIBLE USE COMMITMENT I commit to the following: • I will use this App only for legitimate purposes including software testing, development, quality assurance, privacy protection, and educational purposes • I will NOT use this App for cheating in games, fraud, deceiving service providers, stalking, harassment, or any illegal activity • I accept full and exclusive responsibility for all consequences arising from my use of this App • I will disable mock locations when not actively testing or developing • I will not hold the developer responsible for any consequences arising from my use or misuse of the App
4. DATA PROCESSING CONSENT I consent to the following data processing activities: • Storage of my mock location coordinates, favorite locations, saved routes, and app preferences locally on my device only • Use of my device's location permission for two purposes: (a) initializing the map view at my current location and verifying the mock location setup, and (b) sampling my real GPS track during a walk recording, only when I start it myself • Writing each point of the walks I record — latitude, longitude, altitude, and timestamp — to the local database on my device; these recordings are never sent to any server • Running a foreground service and showing a persistent notification for the duration of a recording, so that it continues while the screen is off and the app is in the background • Keeping a temporary draft on my device while recording, so that my walk is not lost if the app closes unexpectedly • When I use the Photo GPS Editor, reading and editing on my device the EXIF location metadata of the single photo I explicitly select • If I enable Smart Shield, reading only the package name of the app currently in the foreground via the Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS) permission; my screen content is not read • Firebase Remote Config checking the app version for update notifications (no personal data transmitted) • Firebase Crashlytics processing technical data such as device model, OS version, crash time, and error logs when the app crashes • Reading — and only reading — the "What's New" (changelog) record from Cloud Firestore; no personal data of mine is written or uploaded by this operation • Google Maps SDK displaying map tiles (subject to Google's Privacy Policy) • Resolving the search query I type when searching for an address on the map into coordinates via the Android system geocoder (the backend may be Google)
I understand: • My location data, walk recordings, and saved routes are not transmitted to the developer's servers, and personal details such as my name, email, or phone number are not collected. The only exception is the technical data that the third-party services listed above process for their own operation • The app does not use device backup (android:allowBackup="false"); if I uninstall the app or clear its data, all local data including my saved walks is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered — there is no cloud backup • I should export any walks I want to keep as GPX beforehand, and that a GPX file I share carries location, altitude, and time information • I can delete all locally stored data at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling the app • I can revoke both the location permission and the Usage Access permission at any time through Android Settings
5. LEGAL CAPACITY AND AGE VERIFICATION • I confirm that I am at least 18 years old, or at least 13 years old with verifiable parental or guardian consent • I confirm that I have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement • I confirm that I am entering into this agreement voluntarily and without any coercion
6. RELEASE OF LIABILITY To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, I release, discharge, and hold harmless the developer (Abdulkadir ER) from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to my use of this App, including but not limited to: • Penalties imposed by third-party apps or services • Legal proceedings initiated by any party • Loss of data, accounts, or access to services • Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
7. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS I confirm: • I have read and understood the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, KVKK Disclosure Notice, Permissions and Data Use, and Acceptable Use Policy • I agree to be bound by all of these documents in their entirety • I understand that these terms may be updated and that continued use constitutes acceptance
By pressing "Accept" or continuing to use this App, I confirm that I have read, fully understood, and freely accepted all terms set forth in this Consent Declaration.
— Change Note (August 2, 2026): Section 4 (Data Processing Consent) was rewritten. The incomplete statement that the location permission is used "solely to initialize the map view at my current location" was corrected, and the permission's second purpose — sampling the real GPS track only during a walk recording the user starts themselves — was stated explicitly. The scope of consent now covers on-device storage of walk recordings (latitude, longitude, altitude, timestamp), the foreground service and persistent notification, crash-protection recording drafts, the Photo GPS Editor (EXIF), Smart Shield (Usage Access), Firebase Crashlytics, and the read-only use of Cloud Firestore. The phrase "no personal data is collected" was clarified to account for technical data processed by third-party services, and a warning was added that no backup is taken (allowBackup=false) and deleted data cannot be recovered, along with the recommendation to export walks as GPX. Permissions and Data Use was added to the list of documents acknowledged in Section 7.
